(OSI), a Tucson-based manufacturer of precision optical and optomechanical instruments serving national security and commercial satellite applications. The deal expands the aerospace company's vertical integration strategy and strengthens supply chain resilience for critical defense programs, including the Space Development Agency's Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture (PWSA) initiative.
The acquisition adds approximately 20 personnel and 22,000 square feet of advanced manufacturing facilities to Rocket Lab's operational footprint. OSI will be integrated into Rocket Lab Optical Systems, consolidating optical component production capabilities under unified ownership and reducing dependency on external suppliers for specialized defense-grade instrumentation.
