The Initiative for a Competitive Inner City (ICIC) and Intuit have concluded a nationwide educational tour designed to address widespread knowledge gaps surrounding artificial intelligence adoption among small business operators. The six-city roadshow engaged more than 350 small business owners and provided hands-on training and resources focused on practical AI applications and implementation strategies.
Participants in the program demonstrated measurable improvements in their understanding of AI technologies, with confidence levels increasing by an average of 1.3 points on a five-point scale. The tour addressed a significant market challenge: while 89% of small businesses currently utilize AI tools, research indicates that 72% of non-adopting businesses cite insufficient knowledge as the primary barrier to adoption. The educational initiative sought to reduce this knowledge gap and enable business leaders to make informed decisions regarding AI integration.
Looking forward, ICIC plans to expand its AI education offerings through virtual platforms and industry-specific curricula tailored to different business sectors. The organization aims to reach additional small business communities and provide ongoing educational resources to support broader AI adoption across the small business landscape.
